interest subsidy of Rs.72,004.17 lakh under NEF for various eligible Discoms.

• Sensitization workshop was conducted in Chennai, Kolkata, Patna and
Trivandrumfor their respective discomson Operational Guidelines of National Electricity
Fund- Interest Subsidy scheme.

• Steering Committee has sanctioned proposals worth Rs. 10953.80 cr
of capital loan from 8 states (11 discoms) during its meeting held on 19.02.2013
for coverage under NEF during FY 2012-13. The sanction letters to the discoms have
been issued by REC.

• REC conducted Workshop in J&K for Power Department of the state on
Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme on 22nd
September, 2012. Sh Sudhanshu Pandey, IAS, Principal Secretary (Energy) chaired
the workshop which was attended by Addl. Secretary (Energy) and other senior officials
of PDD Govt. of J&K .

• Sensitization workshop was conducted in Bhubaneswar on 24th September
2012 for Odisha Discoms on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-
Interest Subsidy scheme. The workshop was chaired by Sh Pradeep Kumar Jena,Commissioner
cum Secretary (Energy) , Govt of Odisha. Further at the behest of Sh Jena, a brief
presentation was also given to Sh Vijay Mahapatra , IAS, Principal Secretary (Finance)
Govt of Odisha

• Workshop in Guwahati on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity
Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme was held on 26th September, 2012 for all North Eastern
states including Sikkim. Sh. Thong, IAS, Principle Secretary, Govt. of Arunachal
Pradesh and Sh. Syedain Abbasi, IAS, Member (Finance), Assam State Electricity Board
chaired the workshop with wide participation by senior officials from NER states.

• REC conducted a Presentation in Haryana for both the Discoms of the
state on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme
on 1st October, 2012. Sh Devender Singh, IAS, CMD, DHBVNL & UHBVNL, their Directors
along with senior officers of both the Discoms were present during the presentation.

• Sensitization workshop was conducted in Shimla on 3rd October, 2012
for Himachal Pradesh Discom on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-
Interest Subsidy scheme. The workshop was attended by Sh J.P. Kalta, Director (Operations)
and Sh. P.C. Negi, Director (Technical) from HPSEBL. Further meeting with Sh. R.D.
Dhiman, IAS, Chairman HPSEBL was also held.

• Workshop at Bhopal on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity
Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme was held on 5th October, 2012 for all the discoms of
Madhya Pradesh. Sh Suleman, Principal Secretary (Energy), Directors and other officials
of Discoms had also participated in the workshop.

• REC conducted Workshop in Gujarat for all the Discoms of the state
on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme on
12th October, 2012. Smt. Shahmeena Husain, IAS, Director (Admin), GUVNL, Shri H.S.
Patel, IAS, MD, DGVCL, Shri S. B. Khyaliya, CA, MD, MGVCL, Shri Girish Shah, IAS,
MD, PGVCL, Shri N. Shrivastava, MD, UGVCL were present during workshop. Shri P J
Thakkar Director Technical REC also chaired workshop.

• REC conducted Workshop in Dehradun for Uttrakhand Discoms on Operational
Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme on 7th Sep,2012.

• REC conducted Workshop in Hyderabad for Andhra Pradesh Discoms on
Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund-Interest Subsidy scheme.

• Sensitisation workshop was conducted in Bangaluru on 30th August 2012
for Karnataka Discoms on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund- Interest
Subsidy scheme. The workshop was attended by Principal Secretary (Energy), Goverment
of Karnataka & CMD's of various Discoms other than senior officers from state &
utilities.

• REC conducted sensitisation workshop in Mumbai for Maharastra Discom
on Operational Guidelines of National Electricity Fund- Interest Subsidy scheme.
The workshop was also attended by representatative from Private Discoms i.e R-infra
& BEST

• Second workshop at Guwahati on operational guideline of National Electricity
Fund Interest Subsidy Scheme was held on 25 July 2013, for all the Discom/Power
department of North Eastern State (including Sikkim). The workshop was attended
by representative from five north eastern states (Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunachal
Pradesh & Nagaland)
